After a Federal Fort, manned by soldiers of the Unites States Army was fired on by Confederate forces ordered to do so by Jefferson Davis (a Dem).

After running military resupply and prepping for a war as is. Lincoln did his best to try to get SC to do that during a Congressional recess in order to easily have a reason to start the war.

No one was killed during the shelling of Fort Sumter. It was a mostly peaceful protest.
