Question for the hive regarding Beirut. (I was busy entertaining grandgirls when the thing sploded. Late to discussion) Has anyone looked into the likelihood that there were trafficked persons involved in the burning/explosion? Destroying evidence of a trafficking site? It was at a major port city. I understand the weapons connection but these bad actors have their fingers in both pies.

This worker bee can't think of a more inhospitable and exposed -- or less enjoyable or survivable -- place for humans than in those tin-roofed warehouses full of stinky chemicals -- way out on that exposed, grain-dust-coated dock.
Of all the places to hide or exploit trafficked persons, (there's not even any sign of shipping containers -- or handling equipment for them) I can't think of a less likely spot in Beirut.
Sorry, but -- as much as we re all rarin' to see traffickers busted and innocents rescued -- I believe we'll have to look elsewhere than the Beirut grain pier...
And, as for weapons -- remember that I worked on the OKC bombing with Ammonium Nitrate. Bombers usually get their materials at a place like a warehouse -- or the dealer in West-- then they go elsewhere to assemble and employ them.
Bottom line: anywhere in a major city is a stupid place to store a shipload of an unstable, explosive chemical. But, one of my mentors taught me to refrain from attributing to evil that which is best explained by stupidity and laziness...
Hope this is helpful!
