as soon as the rumor went out that there was a coin “shortage”, everyone started hoarding coins, which resulted in a self-fulfilling rumor ... believe it or not, the same thing happened with cat liter early during the covid “shortages” of TP and paper towels ...
fundamentally, there are way too many greedy, selfish, anti-social people, and i’d bet dollars to donuts that the great majority of coin hoarders are leftist assholes ...
i for one have made a point of holding no more than my usual amount of coinage, namely about a dollar’s worth ... i didn’t hoard TP, paper towels or cat litter either ...
I’m a coin hoarder, and I’m definitely not a leftist. I’ve been doing it for a few years now. I’m not trying to create a shortage, but trying to see how many Quarters, Nickels, and Dimes a 1 gallon water jug will hold. The jug is about 2/3rds full, and I have over $300.00 in quarters, $130.00 in dimes, and $30.00 in nickels. :)
