Exactly- Excellent terminology for this issue- many families are directly responsible for breaking up the marriages of their siblings, or daughters or sons- They work and work and work on the married person, their relative, until that person becomes actually angry with their spouse-
The brothers and sisters and parents that do this are control freaks- - Because the spouse of their relative doesn’t measure up to THEIR standards, then they go to work destroying the marriage- even going so far as bearing false witness against the spouse in order to destroy the marriage by turning their relative against their spouse—
Sadly too many families but in where they should be doing so-
Of course- sometimes families should probably at least talk to their relative WITHOUT trying to manipulate the situation like using false accusations, or inflating grievances etc-, when their relative won’t admit there is a serious problem going on with the spouse- such as ongoing abuse, or illegal activities- serious ones- it certainly doesn’t hurt to try to maKE them aware, or get them to finally admit the obvious when there is a serious problem, when there actually is one- for their own safety— but far too many families are broken up by nosy family members over very minor and trivial things
