It shows that NASA is overpaid, and without talent. Unable to come up with any substantive work, they focus their untalented attention on non-problems and busy work.

I think we could very easily zero out half of NASA without a problem. Get rid of the HR people, the affirmative action people, etc. Retain the engineers with orders to focus on real work. If they waste their time worrying about nicknames, then that is a signal that it is time for them to go.

Exactly, right on the money! They need to concentrate on one thing: space exploration. Not making society igualitarian, not making people feel good about themselves. Space exploration.
