I had the exciting experience of learning about three conservatives in California -- the Bay Area. I drove my lib son back to Emeryville after his COVID stay at our house in Arizona. While driving back I called an old friend from the late '80s, whom I had last talked to probably a decade ago. When my wife and I knew her long ago, politics never really came up, at least not in the way it does today.
When COVID came up in the conversation, I said that I thought it would be over in a month, just a sad memory. I mentioned the fact that HCQ was both a preventive and a cure for COVID, and the possibility that Kodak was now producing HCQ for mass distribution. How, she wondered, did I know this stuff?
I clued her into Qanon (of which she had never heard) and our cozy little thread. She admitted being a conservative herself and that she was happily renting her guest house to a conservative couple with whom she had great discussions. She was, of course, silent about her conservatism to most of her Bay Area friends.
So ... we are not alone? WWG1WGA :)
I have Hillary for Prison and gun stickers on my truck and I get thumbs up all the time in some unusual areas in the Bay Area.
