Hummm. Interesting. What is the distance? Ten miles? That is a week worth of swims for me - on a good week.

It’s only a matter of time before the gays of Gibraltar demand to be included.

I'd guess that there are rescue craft and crews along the route. Of course, maybe the guy selling the permits and promoting this just sits on a chaise lounge overlooking the ocean, laughing while puffin' a beeg ceegar and sipping booze out of a fake coconut...

I have probably swam ten miles, what with my being in my 60s...

First, apply a 1/2 inch layer of axle grease to your entire body.

I suppose we should work out why for ourselves?

Hasn’t Joe Biden already done it using the back-stroke?

“Step 6. While swimming, aim for other side of the strait.”

And you may not make landfall.

If I identify as an msm journalist, I don’t have to be accurate or truthful. And if you point out where I’m wrong, you’re just racist against reporters.

Hate crime!

Neener neener.

It is one of my favorite James Bond movies... The movie starts in Gibraltar... A bunch of MI-6 agents are in a war game...They parachute into Gibraltar... An assassin shows up and starts killing British agents...Then James Bond sees the assassin... It is a memorable pre-title sequence...

said, "Step 3. While swimming, don’t get ran over by a ship or boat."

Have a small boat follow you. Pluck you out of the water before you're ran down.

In Chincoteague, VA, they have an annual swim of the half wild ponies on Assatigue Island to Chincoteague Island. The pony herd is managed by the volunteer fire department. The day after the swim they auction off a lot of the new ponies and fund the fire department. I was told this is the richest vol. FD in the country. They always do the swim at slack tide, either high or low tide when the water is about to change flow direction. They did not do the usual swim, carneval, and public auction because of Covid this year. Instead it was an on line auction and I saw a headline that it was the most profitable auction ever held. The men mostly call themselves salt water cowboys. They thin the herd to prevent habitat destruction and provide veteranary services.

It may have been a typing error you saw; otherwise, I would agree, there are *more* horse asses, than ever before.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
