Where I live, two people at a time can visit loved ones in the nursing home outside the building for a half hour once a week with a staff member present. People have to be prescreened the day before the visit and before the visit that day. The resident has to be 6 feet away from the visitors, making it difficult for the hard of hearing and those who can barely see, and everyone must wear masks.
And all under the guise of "protecting the elderly".
Spare me that kind of protection.
Hard of hearing folks can’t lip-read if the speaker is wearing a mask, regardless of distance.
