Now your talking, pardner. Except I’d go for a 3” model 24 in a high ride foward cant holster slightly behind the hip. I have some 44 handloads with 210 gr. hollowpoints that travel out of the 3” tube right at 1100 fps. Stout but not unmanageable at all. A 3” 624 has a lot to give in the way of service. I have one of each for CC, the 624 has been professionally dehorned.l
Well, S&W 24/624, are the second and third ways about it, of course. The extra round in the cylinder is a great plus...but the extra pound or more, makes them a P.I.T.A.to carry (but with more manageable recoil at nitty gritty time)...Point is, for a wheel gun, the .44Spl. is the cartridge to go with for those that can handle it. (my 5’2” 120lb. wife has no problem with it at all). All 3 platforms are functionally equivalent and formidable.
