You mean you didn't create a knowledge base and turn it into a website? And here I was thinking you were some kind of expert. Instead you're just some do-nothing nimrod telling other people how they're supposed to run things.
Actually, I wanted to know your motives for registering the users to your “knowledge base.” The only reason for you to do that would be so you can track individual readers. Why would you want to identify individuals who are reading your “knowledge base?”
I don't identify anybody. Other than posting how to get into the site publicly, which would overwhelm it and make it pretty much impossible for anyone to use, the only way you can get access is to send me a PM here. Unless your screen name happens to be your real name, home address, telephone number, SS, etc. then there is no way to "identify" anyone. Nobody other than me is registered to anything.
If you do a title search or a search on my name you will see that this knowledge base has been online for quite some time. If there were privacy issues someone else, especially someone else who has actually been there rather than making stupid assumptions about it, would have complained by now. When you find one of those complainers be sure to post about it.

Posting your “knowledge base” on a website wouldn’t “overwhelm it and make it pretty much impossible for anyone to use,” unless there are thousands of simultaneous users and you’re hosting it off an Arduino. And yes, by using FR usernames as personal identifiers, you’re intentionally creating an independently controlled, cross-referenced database of FR users who are interested in SHTF and prepping. This is NOT COOL.
I guess they’re right when they say that you can’t fix stupid. Stay safe and don’t ever send anyone a PM. You never know how it may be used against you.
A Beautiful project by some high school kids. I already knew most of the skills covered in the books. Life was not easy where I grew up.
