Odds are good she is on "maternity duty". Likely got pregnant while on sea duty and was reassigned to Naval Base Ventura. I have had to take in quite few like her over the years. Some were great, many were little more than an administrative burden. Odds are also pretty good that this will not end well for her.
Boom preggos, Its been 30 years for me, but you could mop the floor after almost any split tail walked by. Anything looks good after a few weeks out, and at sea sailors grade on a curve. Who are we kidding.. thats a lie. For almost any woman in the navy theres a hard on hanging around every corner.
ETCM,
I cannot say about the consequences of such behavior in the USN, but in the Army the NCO would have (at a minimum) gotten a Field Grade Article 15, if not a Special Courts Martial AND/OR an ADMINISTRATIVE (General) Discharge “for the good of the service’, i.e., “- - - - for UNFITNESS to serve”. - Such a discharge would mean NO pension & a PERMANENT SEPARATION w/o GI benefits.

That's always such a joke. I remember we got a new female technician on base at Yokota, which was a great assignment IMO. She was horrible and we tried to figure out how she even completed school (PMEL) which was one of the more technical schools in the service. She lasted about three months before getting knocked up and getting out. And that was the Air Force. I never understood who thought it was a good idea to put women on ships with men.
