Hi Richard Kimball. Are you from PA?
The Sandusky thing was/is a BIG deal here. Emotionally. People worshipped Paterno. People’s lives revolve(d) around Penn State football. My hubby still can’t fully believe Paterno knew. JoPa loses job and then dies a month later from the heartache —martyr status.
People wanted this whole thing to go away. And it did. As quickly as possible. Yes I’m certain there was more to this pedo network than was reported.

This guy went missing too...https://www.centredaily.com/latest-news/article209528394.html
No, but I've covered college football for about fifteen years as a writer and photographer. I'm nobody special, but have watched the cover ups a bunch of times.
Sounds bad to talk about my colleagues like this, but you know how stupid the average reporter is? The average sports reporter is stupider than that. They're fans, and they want to cover the game on the field. They'll say whatever the school wants them to say in order to keep access, especially in a place like Penn State, where the college runs the town.
I feel for your hubby, on the Paterno thing. It was quite a shock to me to see the difference between the coaches and the image they project, and Paterno was probably the best ever at projecting the image of a no nonsense, do it the right way, no scandals guy.
