I’m sorry I didn’t see or grok the part about the evidence that Giuliani obtained could not be used for prosecution. I remember when he was tweeting about this evidence. Why can’t it be used? Chain of custody? Now some memory is stirring in my feeble brainpan, about Barr and some others travelling to Italy and maybe another country more than a year ago IIRC.

That is certainly an issue. Related is the conditions under which evidence is given. I presume the U.S. has no power to prosecute a foreign witness on foreign soil; just not sure of the technicalities here. Presumably the witness takes an oath under penalty of local prosecution. Of course foreign court documents might stand up; not sure. They would have to be verified as accurate.
