It has to do with his E.O. Protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues and Combating Recent Criminal Violence. Personally, I think they're trying to gather as much information about the group committing the attacks, and hopefully learn more about how they operate. It would be nice to be able to learn the chain of command they use. I don't know if the Feds have infiltrated the groups yet, but by picking them up individually, they tend to be more placid than if they have a group around them. Once you get them alone, they usually turn to jello. One article I read said they've made 13 arrests, but the article also said, that number hasn't been confirmed, so nobody knows if any arrests have even taken place. You'd think the media would be on top of that crap. One Reuters article wrote:
"Portland protester Conner OShea said agents chased him in an unmarked vehicle Wednesday while walking with his friend Mark Pettibone back to their cars. I know theyre looking for people that are doing graffiti and laser pointing, he said. 'We havent done any of that, which makes it all the more scary.'
So apparently he wasn't arrested, just briefly detained, but the reporter never even bothered to ask any of that. And how dumb is Conner O'Shea, to give up his best friend's name? Duh??
