Rep. Karen Bass, D-Calif., on Saturday told President Trump to “say nothing” about the passing of civil rights icon John Lewis, who died late Friday of pancreatic cancer.
Trump issued a proclamation shortly after 11 a.m. to order all U.S. flags be flown at half-staff at the White House, all public buildings and grounds, all military posts and embassies for the remainder of Saturday “as a mark of respect for the memory and longstanding public service” of Lewis.
But Bass said Trump shouldn’t say anything about the death of the Democratic congressman from Georgia. Trump has a history of divisive rhetoric, particularly on race relations, but Bass offered no explanation other than to say “let us mourn in peace.”

I agree because there’s nothing good to say about John Lewis. After 33 years in the house you would expect some record of accomplishments other than his standard race baiting. In an interview just recently with the New York Post this idiot described the looting and rioting after George Floyd’s self inflicted death by Fentanyl overdose. “Good Trouble” He failed to mention that the fine upstanding citizen George Floyd had a baggie of Fentanyl in his rectum. George like John Lewis was pure Class.
Rep. Bass is right that John Lewis is not worthy of speaking about.
Lewis “served” 17 terms in office. Just another government parasite, slopping at the public trough.
The women who are being talked about as being on the “short list” to be Biden’s running mate, none of whom have any accomplishments that would make them appear Presidential material if they were white males, are vying with each other to say divisive and incendiary things about Trump and his supporters, in hopes of enhancing their chances of being selected.
I remember the fake spitting. Mine would have been real, but it would have been in the face of Nancy Pelosi.

I was just a couple of feet from Lewis when he said it happened. It was obvious that it didn't. That said, it was certainly a target-rich environment.
We were living in WDC and attended that large Tea Party rally many Yeats ago. NONE of what the nitwit said happened did happen. The guy is/was a liar and race-baiter. He’s dead. Why “mourn “ or honor such a dishonest and racist person ?
