The Washington Redskins plan to announce Monday morning that they will change their team name, three people with knowledge of the situation confirmed Sunday night. The team is not expected to reveal a new name until a later date.
Two people with knowledge of the teams plans said Sunday that the preferred replacement name is tied up in a trademark fight, which is why the team cant announce the new name Monday.

What do the Indians actually have to say about this proposal?
I do not see any articles, objections or opinions of Native Americans. Are they indeed offended or are they to mature & wise for all this crap.

I don’t care. I’m no longer interested in seeing a bunch of highly-paid men who don’t respect the country that made them rich.

This name change will go a long way in reducing the epidemic of diabetes, alcoholism, and heart disease among the "Native" American population.
If I am not mistaken, there was a survey conducted among the native groups about this issue a few years ago which concluded that the people who are supposedly the most offended by the name, 'Redskins', really don't care or find it offensive at all.
Nothing but transparent virtue signaling which will add another nail into the NFL coffin. Up next: The KC Chiefs.
Ironically; if the Notre Dame Fighting Irish name and logo were ever considered for a 'rebranding', it would be the very people who should be the most 'offended' by the logo who would be the most outraged by its removal.
