I love all kinds of music and I know everyones taste of music is different but if forced to pick only one group since 1970 that was awesome, encompassed uniqueness and range and just fun music overall it would be Earth Wind & Fire. I just loved how they mixed R&B, Jazz, Soul, Pop, Latin and Disco and had lyrics to many of their songs that had meaning and message. Maurice White was a genius and his instrumental arrangements for the bands top hits was bar none. Great Car music
Thats the Way of the World
Fantasy
Reasons
Getaway
After the Love is Gone
Serpentine Fire
Shining Star
Cant hide Love
Boogie Wonderland
Gratitude....etc
Chicago. ELO close 2nd
Their 1990 album Flood might be the greatest album of all time. Where else could you find the lyrics "We were once so close to Heaven, Peter came out and gave us medals, declaring us the nicest of the damned"?
Statler Brothers
Kiss. Hands down.
Doobie Brothers or Skynyrd.
David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar?
Doobie Brothers or Skynyrd.
Good call. Have seen them in concert about 15 (?) times. Amazing musicians with a ton of time-enduring hits. Never get tired of their songs.
Journey, agreed. Faithfully is one of the most beautiful songs ever, imo. Gives me chillbumps! :)
I would definitely consider the Doobie Brothers. Iconic songs + + + +
Its still a crime in MNSHO that the Doobies are not in the R&R HOF. Pass it on. Good call btw.
“Fleetwood Mac or The Eagles”
Agreed.
Dont forget Boogie Wonderland. I love Earth, Wind, and Fire. Saw them in 1976. Better than the Beatles I saw in the 60s in DC. I am also partial to Journey and Genesis.
Yes, pardon the misspelling.
Manhattan Transfer. Wow. They were great.
Always loved their, Twilight Zone:

Almost everyone is picking bands that are more than 50 years old.
Yep forgot about that and pretty much I hate disco generally speaking but they made that song so much fun. In my opinion only them, Barry White and Donna Summers made disco music palpable in that era
Just one?! Santana.
With regrets to so many others... too many to name. So grateful for music!
