I wonder why the President can’t ask for the same records Vance is asking for, to prepare for his defense.
They now become official Presidential records.
Once he gets them, he includes them in the Presidential Records act.
He basically wishes them into the cornfield.
Specifically, the PRA allows for public access to Presidential records through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) beginning five years after the end of the Administration, but allows the President to invoke as many as six specific restrictions to public access for up to twelve years
Cripes...SCOTUS shoots it down. it’s a no-go.
the court actually addresses this (pdf page 23; document pages 18-19) in the opinion when addressing Pres. Trump’s “heightened standard” request for non-federal actions..
