Didn’t we used to have something called “equal treatment under the law”? And something about bills of attainder, which is sorta the opposite of this? But then, I’m not a lawyer (thank God)...
Two thoughts: First, everything you read in the news is a lie. This was a relatively narrow decision. Crimes committed by Indians on Indian land have to be prosecuted either by the Indians or the Feds. It's not earth shattering. Indian casinos exist because state law isn't enforced in Indian lands.
Second, always be suspicious of this ruling being used to set a precedent. The big steal of rights may come from future cases that return state lands to [controlled] tribal councils, taking them away from state governments and putting them under Federal jurisdiction.

The Indians then said that the lawyer had no right to do that and rejected the payment as they wanted the Land not money. So the money is sitting and drawing interest waiting on the Indians to give up and accept it.
