I never forget that at age 16 or younger, George Washington was surveying frontier land alone and negotiating with the native inhabitants of colonial America. Zero excuses at ages 24 and 32 to play on the interstate, illegally block traffic, or create the scenario where drivers are harassed and attacked.

Yes. George Washington’s white privilege did him no good. His father died when he was 11 and George spent the next few years bouncing between his mother in Fredericksburg, with relatives in Westmoreland and his half brother in Mount Vernon.
Not seeing the privilege yet.

Surveyor at 16, militia Major at 20, Lt Colonel at 22 and later Colonel and commander of all Virginia Militia for the duration of the French and Indian war.
Sounds like hard work to me.

Washington’s father and grandfather had been prominent people in the Virginia colony but George made his way by hard work and persistence.

Same with Abe Lincoln and a host of others.
