I question why Maxwell let herself be caught and in the US? It doesn’t make sense. She could have spent her days on any number of private islands and never see a jail cell. What’s behind her reasoning?

NIKK, I saw a comment that reasoned that by staying in the US she was showing she was not a flight risk, and thus would strengthen her case for no bail.
