The hope would be that we would have a safe and effective vaccine by that point. A number of candidates are in trials or going into trials right now. President Trump has been talking about this for a while now and it’s becoming clear that things are progressing faster than anyone could have dreamed of.
We can’t have a safe and effective vaccine. Every year, every flu mutates and comes back differently. If the goal is to wait for a vaccine, the US will never open.
