If modern prophets are really hearing God speaking to them, then the canon of scripture is not closed.

If what is said is a reminder of something in Scripture, hearing it emphasized does not change or add to Scripture, does it?

If they open a Bible and say: “this is what the Bible says”, then it is not adding to scripture.

If they say: “God spoke to me and this is His message”, then yes it is adding to scripture.
