I hope we do get mail-in ballots. With the highest level of security and traceability possible. As high as your credit card, bank statement, drivers licence, passport, or IRS tax payment has. Yes there are occasional data breaches, but I don’t recall the NSA having one, nor has anyone attempted to deposit money in my account or pay my bills. Why? Because those systems are designed and operated to ensure high security. I get spam sometimes and the mail delivery person sometimes put someone elses mail in my box, but I’ve never received an email intended for a different email address, only when the sender messes up and puts mine in by mistake.
My point is that secure reliable systems can be built and do exist. If we’re going to use one for voting, it has to meet the highest standards, with no exceptions.
If such a system existed, it could actually really reduce fraud and corrupt practices by election officials who know how to cheat the existing systems and get away with it. Give it some thought and I think most people will agree. Whether it can be done before November, I don’t know but I am confident Trump will not allow the election to be stolen by fraudsters. If we are worried about it, think about how much he has put on the line for this job and how much HE must be worried about it too.
A lost credit card or credit card bill has remedy through the credit card company. Stolen card - you are not responsible for the spending of the thief.
But a stolen ballot, a ballot that goes to a non-existent person, a ballot that is discarded, lost, or destroyed, a ballot that is not counted or double-counted in the back room where nobody but democrat operatives exist - well, there is no restitution for a stolen election.
If Biden wins, the country is done. Our constitutional republic, at that point, will no longer exist. Only bloodshed will bring it back, if that is even possible.
I hope you are being sarcastic. Several problems:
1. Mail gets stolen, lost, misdelivered, to addresses where the people have moved out, etcetc.
2. No way to check whether the person sending it in is the person who it was supposed to go to.
3. No way to check whether the person sending it in is a citizen and eligilibe to vote, especially in Demshevik states. Or is alive, or has only voted once, etc.
4. Easy for mail openers to throw away and replace with nice new shiny ballots.
5. China may have printed up pre-filled out ballots as suggested by Trump and Q.
These are only a few reasons, I can think of more if I try. The problem is not just the unreliability of the USPS, that’s just the first layer.
