I was thinking about what @john the owner of Parler said about investment...
He does not believe he can get investment from Silicon Valley because he is in direct competition with them.
Apparently Dan Bongino has invested but that got me thinking...
Why doesn't he crowd fund the investment? Would you kick in for a piece of the pie?
Crowd funding is nothing new.
There are many companies/websites where you can setup projects to appeal for capital from smaller investors (like ourselves).
Do you think this would be a good idea? Anyone familiar with crowd funding and think it can be done? Or is it simply too ambitious?
I think this could be the only way of keeping it conservative and OUT of the hands of the liberal elite.
Here's what he said about investment:
"... But he recognizes that the political tone of his platform will probably make it hard for him to raise money from investors in Silicon Valley, which leans Democratic and is decidedly anti-Trump. Thus far, hes funded the company with angel money and said hell soon be looking to raise a first institutional round of financing.
I can only speculate that they wouldnt be interested unless theyre ideological, he said, referring to traditional venture investors.
Whatever happens, the worst thing possible would be for one or more of the big guys, or our enemies, to buy a big piece. Happens often.
Yes I’m afraid so but the owner seems not likely to sell out but you never know when a big chunk of money is offered !
Hopefully Parler wont be demonetized like Gab has.
