I live in the country and my generator would not power my pump. Not too big a problem as I had saved around a hundred gallons of water. I never ran out, but I got power after only 3 days. many people were out for over a month or even longer.

One lucky thing is there is a Verizon tower only 300 yards from me. I could use email, phone, internet etc. Verizon restored power after only a day.

One really neat thing was I bought a 12 volt to 120 volt inverter around 20 years ago. It was only 75 watts. I looked up my satellite modem and by sheer luck it was 75 watts.

Had a house where the electricity went out almost every storm.

We had a generator cuz we had well water but before that filled up the tubs for every bad storm and had water in storage.

Lasted once a week and a half with no power. Not fun.
