Automobiles are a lot heavier, and more powerful than the human body. To me it seems idiotic to try to obstruct an automobile’s prgress forward by putting my body in its path.
I believe I learned this at an early age.
Once surrounded by persons intent upon obstructing an officer in his appointed rounds, that officer has every right to procede forward toward his or her destination.
They're relying on the people driving to be unwilling to harm others, or cause a death. But there have been enough videos out lately showing how drivers are pulled out of cars and beaten, their cars trashed, that people have decided that it just isn't safe to stop around a feral crowd of marxists.
The protesters depend on the good heart of the person in control of the car that they will not run over them. Then they beat on the hood and break windows. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
