My "New Linear Model" is sucking wind, because I failed to predict the New Cases would crest again as the Chinavirus "Traveling Wave" sweeps across the population centers of the South.
I think of it like an ocean wave, which is barely noticeable in deeper water but crests at each successive sandbar making those impressive waves.
In this analogy, the first sandbar was the population centers of the north, from NY/NJ/DC/MA to Chicago. The Chinavirus wave is now cresting across the second sandbar: Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, L.A. and other cities of the south.
If this hypothesis is correct, what we are currently seeing in the south is the equivalent of the April wave through the north, visible in the table below.
