I remember African Americans in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, protesting the violent racism they endured when I was a young woman in the 1960s. I remember thinking that it had nothing to do with me. I have learned since that everyone, but, particularly white people, must address our insidious negative beliefs about Black people that cause us to tolerate the reality that Black people are disproportionately harmed by policing and the legal system.

If a black cant make it now with ALL the programs, scholarships hiring quotas then they are complete LOSERS.
I’ll take option 2.
“I remember thinking that it had nothing to do with me. I have learned since that everyone, but, particularly white people, must address our insidious negative beliefs”
So, she recognizes her own racism, and then makes the racist assumption that all people with her skin color have the same “insidious negative beliefs” that she does. She was and continues to be a racist. Nice try.
Racism? Not everybody is going to like you. People have the right to like and dislike whomever they want for whatever reason they want. Get over yourself and get on with life.
FU, Agnes!
You mean statistics?
I have white, polite, middle-aged, sober woman privilege when the police pull me over.
They don’t expect trouble or danger from me. Am I supposed to act up to prove that women are as dangerous as men, that middle aged people are as wild as young?
I can do nothing to build up other people’s privilege, to change the expectations brought out by differing behavior patterns of different groups.
I could surely do my small part to dismantle white, middle-aged woman privilege by acting badly. Develop a local reputation, perhaps recruit friends to do the same.
Is that what they mean by dismantling privilege?
Take the writer to Chiraq. Without security. Her worldview will quickly change.
It has been a one way street for at least 40 years now.
Yeah, those 20 million dead black babies in abortion killed themselves...No white liberals or blacks helped that process along.... This is the only time in history that racists have been able to get blacks to help slaughter their own people...
There’s two types of people in the world right now:
Those who form their opinions based on reality.
Those who form reality based on their opinions.

“...everyone, but, particularly white people, must address our insidious negative beliefs about Black people...”
I’m waiting for her lengthy diatribe about Jewish Privilege next.
I share your same privilege but not too long ago, privilege was called stereotype. And you are correct - it’s up to black people to change the negative stereotypes surrounding them. And they know it.
White privilege is being used to take the focus off of black dysfunction and their own complicity in it. If black people started to take responsibility for their own mess, the whole racial grievance machine would come to a screeching halt. And the democrats would never win another election.

This attitude reminds me of the above video - Trump should broadcast it once a week
“Black people are disproportionately harmed by policing and the legal system.”
BECAUSE THEY COMMIT MORE CRIMES!
HARMED? George Floyd KILLED HIMSELF! (by his lifelong criminal actions and behaviors)
Black people “harm” THEMSELVES by smokin weed, selling drugs, possessing stolen or unregistered firearms, fathering children with multiple “baby mamas” and abandoning them, chillin’ instead of workin’, demanding “respect” when there is nothing in their lives worthy of respect.
Of course not ALL Blacks, but guess who is painting you with THAT brush? OTHER BLACKS who do those things.
It is about time the rest of you “good people” STAND UP against these LOSERS, for your own RESPECT.
I’ve grown up in NH. My silence is due to the fact that we do not have a race problem up here because we really don’t have black people up here. I can’t speak for or feel guilt about what happens outside my territory, nor will I. They probably don’t want to hear what the white boy from NH has for a solution, nor should they. They know their problems, it’s up to them and their handlers to figure out the solution. I feel for the blacks being stuck where they are, the inner city is really just a glorified refugee camp. It’s a shame they have sat on the sidelines for decades. I am afraid it might be too late.
