National Guard.

In order to deploy NG within a state, the Governor has to request the NG.

Can you imagine the blowback if Trump ordered the NG into Washington state against the governor’s wishes? If this persists Trump may use some other constitutional means and likely will.

Sounds as though you have some burrs under the saddle, “Liberal daughter”? And “he doesn’t listen to anyone”?

Oh well, I guess a living saint as president would not live up to your expectations.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Then why the hell did he say that he was going to stop it if the governor did not???

It wasn’t some 3D chess. It was empty bluster which to me has become his signature. We’ve been on defense since the day he took office and he still is not taking control of anything. His Supreme Court picks are turning out to be liberal and I sure know I’m not alone when I say I am very pissed off. I will vote for him but now, where I used to think he was going to really go to town on the left when he got re-elected, I now think if he gets re-elected he’s going to actually turn more liberal.

That is not true.

The President has full authority under Title 10 to Federalize the National Guard, especially under the current circumstances:

10 U.S. Code § 12406 - National Guard in Federal service: call

Whenever— (1) the United States, or any of the Commonwealths or possessions, is invaded or is in danger of invasion by a foreign nation; (2) there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States; or (3) the President is unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States; the President may call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard of any State in such numbers as he considers necessary to repel the invasion, suppress the rebellion, or execute those laws. Orders for these purposes shall be issued through the governors of the States or, in the case of the District of Columbia, through the commanding general of the National Guard of the District of Columbia

Furthermore, bramps is correct. Trump issued a very strongly worded threat, which he never acted upon. I am sure the enemies of our nation have noticed:

When the South was in rebellion, did Lincoln need Southern States to approve the deployment of Federal Forces?

The Insurrection Act of 1807 summary I read indicates that state legislature/governor request is but one of thee ways of employing the enabling powers provided by statue to the president.
