I read SB’s initial comment and some subsequent replies.
A census worker who is not a pt contracted worker means she works in .gov full time and has other duties besides the walkround census stuff. SB can correct me if I am wrong. There is a lot of talk amongs employees in any outfit. So she herself may not officially have access to some info but hear or read from others.
I would not discount her knowledge just because of her specific position.
I agree a government employee hears lots of inside especially if they are in a not so visible position. People do talk.
Years ago when I worked in a large hospital if you wanted to know anything especially new information you could ask the janitorial staff. They were first to know because management would talk in front of them not even noting their presence.
