Detroit’s population is down almost 2/3 from 1.85m in 1950. As the black population ballooned, whites fled black disorder and crime.

Whites went from 99% of the population in 1910, Detroit’s heyday, to 11% in 2010.

Yes. My grandfather was born in 1910 and lived near Detroit. He said that blacks moved into Detroit from the South during World War II.
