It seems like every time I use the self-checkout lane, I end up having a cashier help me anyway so I don't even bother with them anymore.

'Course, if there are no cashiers at all, I'd be totally scrood. They gotta have somebody there to help when those things get hung up.

They will have a human to handle issues but one for every eight stations versus paying for eight cashiers. The RFID tech is getting better, meaning an unscanned (shoplfted) item will get flagged. This seems inevitable.

I use the self checkout for a few items and don’t have any
problems. But I wouldn’t do that for a large cart full of
items. I prefer the normal check out with bagging by the
the clerk and me placing the bags in the cart. JMO
