(From NextDoor CEO)
Neighbors,
Let me say it unequivocally: Racism has no place on Nextdoor.
First, I want to express my outrage and sadness for those who have been hurt by the legacy of racism in the United States. I am heartbroken for those experiencing loss and grief right now.
Recent events have acutely exposed that some of the behavior we see on our platform is not at all in line with our values as a company. Weve heard from many Black neighbors that they do not feel welcome and respected. For this, we are sorry. This, we must change.
Systemic racism in our nation will not be solved overnight. Neighborhoods, we believe, must be part of the solution. Nextdoor connects neighbors, creating dialogues with people you may not have otherwise known. These conversations can spark understanding and drive change.
Nextdoor exists to foster these conversations in a civil, productive way. We are committed to building neighborhoods where everyone is empowered to participate. Our purpose at Nextdoor is to cultivate a kinder world where neighbors can rely on one another, where all feel welcome.
While we have been working for years to create this civil forum for discussions, it is time to expand our plan for improvements to our platform and our company. With our employees, neighbors, partners, and advisors, we are taking action.
We will better educate our neighbors on what is and is not allowed on our platform, drawing a firm line against racist behavior and removing comments and members who violate the rules. We will accelerate our plans to strengthen our community moderation. This will include improving the resources and support we provide to Neighborhood Leads who work to maintain civil and productive conversations on Nextdoor. We will also take deliberate steps to further increase diversity across our organization and to make our team more reflective of the neighborhoods we want to serve.
This is important work, and there is much more to come. We are committed to plotting a clear path forward, where Nextdoor becomes a destination for vital conversations and trusted connections.
This change starts with sidewalk conversations and simple offers to help our neighbors in need. It will happen as we lean on each other through hurricanes and health crises, or when we come together at park cleanups and community cookouts. The important conversations start with these moments, at these intersections.
Only when we really see each other, will we begin to resolve our differences. Together, we will create a Nextdoor where everybody belongs.
This is only the beginning.

I've been having heated arguments with hypocrites on NextDoor (as well as FacePlant). I'm called these names exactly because I express frustration and outrage that these riots - violence - are dismissed and justified by self-same liberals. If you oppose, you are racist.
But yet another e-mail comes in condescendingly and self-righteously pontificating about white-shaming. This time NextDoor; last week, the community college, our private school, and the public schools. (Latter outraged me because they are going to HAVE ARRESTED people who speak "offensively" AND, PRESS CHARGES - even if nothing happened under school jurisdiction!)
I just got this email from Sarah as well. Her friends call her Karen.
I immediately unsubscribed from their emails, deleted my account and uninstalled the app.
Screw ‘em.
I don’t do it on tablet, just desktop. How do you get off it? Isn’t this about as hard as FaceBook? (Even worse, because I can’t find yet how you can change your pseudonym to be something besides your full name - although I’ve seen others have it initialed.)
There is no systemic racism, whatever the hell that means. There has always been racists, however, and there always will be. For all of those that raise hell every minute of everyday about their race, and how mistreated they are, here is a clue: THEY ARE RACIST. I suggest that they take a deep breath, and try to organize their life so that they can do the best that they can. If the liberals keep trying to fan the race wars, then they will get what they want - systemic racism, and they will be the cause of it. Let’s talk about UNITY, not diversity. A good start is to view this country the way it should be ONE Nation, under GOD, INDIVISIBLE, With liberty and justice for all. Witb anarchy, there IS NO JUSTICE.

I am sure if you go back through all of Sarah’s postings on various forums something very interesting will come up.
It seems like it always does.
Same. Dont need them and Im not giving them any views.
I was just kicked off of NextDoor for not being woke enough about a BLM event happening today. I told them to either restore my account, or cancel it.
The incident happened when I responded to one of the organizers about the safety of the event. She said if I acted stupid I would be taken care of. Pretty blatant threat, right? I called her out on it. I was locked out of the thread, and then account suspended. Fascists through and through.
Someone needs to start a neighborhood app alternative for conservatives.
I never signed up for this or any of the other social coercion platforms.
“This is only the beginning.

No, Sarah, this is the end. The end of your s....y app on my phone. Go FY
They suck
NextDoor, IMO, is just another Facebook clone used for information gathering, social shaming and political activism.
The only reason I’m on it is to keep up with what goes on in our town and see what I’ll have to be dealing with if I leave my house.
If people are truthful about crime in the city, they are shamed for being negative. Leftist actists and agitators are constantly trolling the feed trying to draw people out so they can find out which side they’re on.
Almost everyone is tripping over their own dicks and feet to outdo the others in virtue signalling.
It is only useful to gauge conditions in your area. In my area, I just keep my mouth shut and blend in.
I never post. I only monitor how batshit crazy my neighbors are and take appropriate cautionary measures.
I just deactivated my account. Worthless thing I ever joined and I have never joined FB or any of those other social media sites.
Nextdoor has become ‘White Shaming’ in their angst to suit the Black Lives Matters people.
I love the bargains I get when people are desperate to get rid of quality items.
I do not publicly state any comments and only observe and save a bunch of money from stupid people.
The only good that ever resulted from Nextdoor was adopting my two cats, Ozzie and Harriet. Love them to pieces. I saw the future when Covid started and quickly deleted the app. I already know that my neighbors are self righteous assholes. I don’t need to read it as well.
There is no systemic racism as the left claims. But there are systemic claims and accusations of racism that will only cause racism.
