Cincinnati Reds star Joey Votto has done some soul-searching in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in police custody, and he didn’t like what he saw in himself when first told of the video. For that, Votto blamed his privilege and pledged to do better in an op-ed titled “My awakening” published by the Cincinnati Enquirer on Sunday.

Joey Votto must be fired by the Cincinnati Reds for the murder of George Floyd. He is a Canadian, undoubtedly sent here for his hatred of blacks and desire to murder them.

Here in Cincinnati Saint Joey of Votto - The Patron Saint of the Called Third Strike has many acolytes. Uttering blasphemies against him are fighting words in some parts of this town.

Another Canadian Karen telling Americans what to think. Canada had slavery too (but ended it before the US did). Probably none of Votto’s ancestors lived in Canada back then (from his name I would guess he is descended from Italian immigrants).
Wow. I've always been sort of a Joey Votto fan, but no more (same for Drew Brees and many others). What's with this insane 'white guilt' among sports stars all of a sudden??
