Mobile can get nasty in a hurry. Cities along the gulf coast that are close enough to the gulf to get the full force of the humidity but not the sea breezes are the most disgusting kind of hot. Throw in a passing thunderstorm followed by full sun, and just thinking leaves you drenched in sweat.
Fun fact: Mobile gets more yearly rain than any other American city. That said, Beaumont, TX and Homa, LA are the 2nd and 3rd hottest places according to me in the US. The hottest is Key West, no relief - ever.
