Yeah, and how much debt did the Boomers and WWII generation leave GENXers with before we were even old enough to step up to the ballot box?
And, what generation is currently retiring en masse with unfunded pension programs that were little more than a ponzi scheme to begin with?
Or, implemented social security, the "Great Society, and handouts on and on and on.
So yeah, let's play the generation game.
You know - I've come to the realization that I will never see social security even though I've paid into since I was 16. I used to advocate that people over 50 should keep it and let the rest of us off the hook and invest our money in private accounts.
However, I see comments like yours and more and more I think - maybe we should just end social security, medicare, medicaid, etc - tomorrow.
Your whiny rant would make some sense if once you were old enough to step up to the ballot box you tried to do something about it. But you didn’t, you made it worse. But we do share something in common. I could have started collecting SS years ago but I haven’t started yet and I don’t expect it to last for me either. As for Medicaid, Medicare and the rest, I don’t live in America anymore so I spent my entire working life paying for it and will never use it. Consider it my gift to you for suffering from the sins of your fathers.
