Craven politicians like Biden and Hillary turn themselves inside out to make the electorate “like them” enough to vote for them.
Liz, my take is that no one really “likes” these craven politicians - not even high numbers in their own party (though they will never openly say that, some for fear of what may happen to them). Because they themselves are so unlikable, these politicians’ m.o. is, by whatever means necessary, to make the electorate hate (viscerally if possible) the GOP in order to be elected. That is easier to do than covering themselves with sugar and showing everyone how sweet they are.
