There was a meme saying that Mayor diBlasio’s real name is Warren Wilhelm Jr. and he was a youthful fan of the Sandinistas and a Communist back then.

I don’t know about the other stuff, but his birth name was Warren Wilehm Jr. Not cool and ethnic enough so he changed it to his mother’s maiden name or something.
They need to start calling DeBlasio “Wilhelm Klink” in honor of the hapless German Colonel of Stalag 13 on “Hogan’s Heroes”.
