Dems are afraid to ask questions because they don’t like how RR is answering, so they just waste time and pontificate (i.e. dumbass Whitehouse).
No Sen. Cruz is up, he will swing for the fences.
And he scored at least a double. Cruz presented RR with two explanations for his acts in the summer of 2017: either he was complicit (which Cruz said he didn’t believe was the case) or he didn’t do his job very well (read the transcript for his exact words but either negligent or incompetent). And he got RR to, in essence, admit that was the case. Despite acknowledging that he had a politicized department and that this was the most important case, he didn’t ask any questions to verify the information given to him. RR takes issue with the term “rubber stamp” but to any lay person, that’s what it amounted to. Just assumed it was done right and allowed it to continue. That’s negligence at best.
