Note that Pittsburgh ends in a g, but Harrisburg does not. Its history, man!

Actually there is a story. Over century ago post office wanted PA towns to all drop the h. Its German, by the way...burgh means town (and berg means mountain). Pittsburgh didnt like it and lobbied to get it back, which eventually did, prob about 1920. Check out baseball cards not to mention maps.
