I had to sign off on audits for years. I made sure every dollar agreed with mine and if they changed anything, they had to explain why. If I didn’t agree, I would explain my position and I usually won. A lot of times it had to do with capitalization vs. Expense of assets and depreciation.
Then when I worked at the union I had to calculate how much money and time was spent on political activities, fortunately most of the auditors didn’t know that much about it.
At a non profit that received Grant’s, much of the audit was that staff time followed the grant. Could be a pain, but I took care of that each payroll period. I’m sure you know that goes on gub. Lol.
