Mirrored plastic stocking-like head gear which also reflects in the IR might be useful?

I have a bunch of spray can retro-reflective paint I got for a clothing project.
It works but the overspray was a real problem.
Can said it could be “washed out” in the laundry but not really.
I ended up with the design and massive glowing halo of overspray that sort of just looks like a grayish dust on black until light hits it and then it glows like mad.
Was thinking of taking a dark gray hoody and just blasting the whole thing.
You wouldn’t see the paint on that color at all.
/weird things I come up with
I saw a while back where a group of bank robbers used hats arrayed with IR LEDs to blank out their faces on surveillance videos. It worked.
