You are writing much fiction, as CLEARLY evidenced by the video.
1. Arbery did NOT have his ability to flee “blocked”. When he ran by the truck on its right side, he had the free choice to simple keep running straight ahead where he was NOT blocked. Instead of making that choice to flee, Arbery decided to veer from his course, make a rapid 90 degree running turn to the left and immediately attack the son who was open carrying the shotgun.
2. Arbery was not shot when he “tried to pass by”. Arbery had CHOSEN to NOT pass by. He instead CHOSE to INITIATE an attack on the son to try to wrestle the shotgun from him. Arbery RAN to engage the son instead of running straight ahead. It was during that struggle that the shotgun was initially fired. And the struggle for the gun CONTINUED. And the 2nd and 3rd shots were fired while Arbery CHOSE to continue to try to wrestle the gun away INSTEAD OF BREAKING CONTACT.
