Guess where this is going??? And this is the priciest neighborhood in the city of Atlanta. So rest assured this will lead the national news tonight, it will run wall to wall for weeks and there will be mass demonstrations calling for the conviction of this murderer. Black leaders will find the nearest microphone and camera to vent their anger, they will demand justice and will call on the Justice Department to get involved. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will sic the GA Bureau of Investigation on the culprit, start arresting neighbors who were in the area and make sure he is the center of attention until the case ends. HA HA HA, not really, not a peep will come from any external media, commentators or activists. It's a non story and dead after one or two days. Black privilege.

For black men in prison: According to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) in 2013 black males accounted for 37% of the total male prison population, white males 32%, and Hispanic males 22%.
There were 37,144,530 non-Hispanic blacks, which comprised 12.1% of the population. This number increased to 42 million according to the 2010 United States Census, when including Multiracial African Americans, making up 14% of the total U.S. population.

Black Americans are grossly over-populating prisons. But, that does SEEM to correlate with the black family's DEARTH of fathers living in the home with their sons.
And, truth be told, MOST black Americans have more than a little white in them.

My mother, husband and I visited KENYA when husband and I were living in the Middle East. When I saw the Kenyans I was AMAZED at how dark they are. They made the American "black" look white.
There was an American black couple on a tour there and the Kenyans treated THEM as white Americans. The couple was OBVIOUSLY in shock at the color of the Kenyans...and didn't realize how "white" they looked in comparison.

Lol. A moment to treasure. I was as surprised as they were!

Spike Lee movies often have this shade or color prejudice as a running understory.
When people think of racism it is usually against people outside of their ethnicity. Colorism is discrimination against people because they have a darker complexion. The idea of racism and colorism are similar. Someone with a lighter complexion is considered to be more beautiful or valuable than someone with dark skin.[2]
It was a revelation to me, many years ago, when I realized that my Grandfather, born in 1907, thought the most acceptable Black Man in his eyes had the darkest skin color because that meant he could never "pass."   What a really sick way of thinking.

Yet nowadays it's often been the lighter shade of shin that is admired, accepted and desired even among Black people themselves as Spike Lee has exposed and admonished against.

Not to be confused with Racism.
