I agree with your analysis. He’s not faking, that’s for sure, and at the rate of mental decline we’re seeing, it probably won’t matter that he’s not punished. But I don’t think there is a “senile father defense” in the law that will help the kid. And hopefully there are other links to Obama, because even if we were to freeze Biden in his present mental capacity level, how credible would he be?
Given the pity angle and how kindly Republicans are famous for treating their “friends across the aisle” it probably best just to let Sleepy Joe shuffle off to the senior buffet and rely on other sources.
I do think the damage he’s done to the D party is significant. They started out with what, 30 candidates? And this is the best they ended up with. Hard to decide who is dumber, the people who pushed Biden all along, or the DNC operatives who convinced all the others to fall on their swords when the deterioration of Biden was abundantly clear.

You’re assuming the primary process was all about finding the best candidate. The powers that be had already determined who they wanted to run in November and Biden is helping them get there. He played his part, which was to beat Sanders ‘fair and square’ so as to appease the progressive base of the Democrat party. Sanders did his part, which was to pretend to be the outsider and when he lost the nomination ‘fair and square’, to tell his followers they need to get behind the party’s nominee, because beating Trump is too important not to. Bernie Bro’s are some of the dumbest, most gullible people on the planet.

We actually disagree on a substantial point. I do believe he’s faking. He was stupid before the Bursima revelations and became feeble and confused after them. I can be wrong about this - but I question the timing.
Same thing Nancy Pelosi did. She portrayed herself as incompetent until AOC threatened her position and then she became competent again.
With Biden, he just doesn’t have try as hard to act dementia, or they are simply medicating him to get the right addled behavior - they wouldn’t have to give him very much of any doping meds.
I want Biden to pay for his crimes so I don’t think he should be allowed to shuffle away. My 2 cents.
