I don't like youtube either. 95% of my online video viewing is at BitChute these days. Sometimes, if the FR thread topic is interesting, I'll click on a YouTube origin thread, and read the comments. If they, or the original poster makes the effort to post a decent summary of the video contents to make it seem worthwhile, I'll click on the link and watch the video, or at least enough to see if it is worth my time.
They let you skip the in-line ads after five seconds if it is a monetized video, and my Java blocker suppresses any popup-ads, and I ignore any static ads off to the side.
And on the bright side, as YouTube censors more and more of their useful political content, there are fewer and fewer reasons for FReepers to link them in the first place. With any luck, all conservative and libertarian videos will be found at BitChute, eliminating the need for FReepers to send people to the enemy.
Why not call for the end of links to NYT, WaPo, CNN, MSNBC and all the rest of the enemedia articles too, if you are worried that they might make money off of your click?
As far as I know, You Tube is the only place the sports videos I like are to be found.
