Years ago I took the family to DC and stopped at Monticello on the way back.
Almost felt like I was walking into my family home. Especially when I saw that clock in the front foyer and some of his other gadgets around the place.
Well, my Mom's family has been here since at least the French-Indian Wars.....who knows?

My Dad’s folks came over in the 1600’s, too.
And have been traced back to the 1400’s in Newent, Gloucestershire. And likely came from a specific part of Normandy before that.
IIRC, Robert E Lee is also one of my ancestors on my Dad’s side.
