Thanks for all the good wishes and congratulations. I’m sorry — because I’m still genetically Canadian — if I missed anyone.
I think I’ll just listen to Lee Greenwood’s song for the rest of the day.
Lee Greenwood song. A worthy prescription for all of us. Nice touch
As you have noticed, all of us here are working diligently to afford you the great promise our Forefathers made to all of us.
We all, each in our own way, strive to keep this place that great shining city on the hill where we live in freedom.
Pro Tips, now that you are an American:
1. I assume you had to pass a gun-safety test before swearing in... now it is time to purchase your first 5 guns. We refer to this action as The Minimum Armory for New 'mericans.2. You can officially say impolite things. Really! It's a right.
3. You can now pursue happiness, unfettered by your socialist former country.
4. You can officially renounce ties to the UK, royalty, and prime ministers with fake eyebrows.
I trust you will use these freedoms bodly, recklessly, and with abandon!
PS - we used to have a think called a "road beer", but those days are gone...
I hope your Citizenship courses taught you enough about RIGHTS that you can sing the words correctly:
"I won't forget the men who died to SAVE those rights FOR me..."
