Reminder: Brennan and Co. Targeted Flynn In Part Because He Knew About Billions They Were Running Off The Books

Word broke nationally Tuesday that former Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan had suppressed evidence that Vladimir Putin was more interested in a Hillary Clinton win in 2016 than a Donald Trump win. My colleague Nick Arama covered the rumblings of that story in late April.

Brennan, in fact, seems to the be the big fish under U.S. Attorney John Durham’s microscope, but not just because of the latest news about suppressing Putin’s preferences. Sidney Powell, the formidable attorney responsible for helping Ret. Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn successfully battle the drummed-up charges against him, has very specifically said Brennan has his fingerprints all over the smearing of her client because Flynn had a keen interest in auditing the intelligence community and ferreting out corruption.

But it’s the corruption itself that’s stunning. In early April, Powell told the Vicki McKenna Show that the disgraced intel leader and others in the intelligence community were targeting Flynn over billions of taxpayer dollars that he knew were not being properly accounted for.

“Powell, who took over Flynn’s defense last summer, told the Vicki McKenna Show on 1310 WIBA Madison on Tuesday that her client was ‘totally set up’ because he threatened to expose wrongdoing by top intelligence officials in the Obama administration,” the Washington Examiner reported Wednesday.

“He was going to audit the intel agencies because he knew about the billions [former Obama era CIA Director John] Brennan and company were running off books,” she said.

Aside: if Flynn knew anything really damning don’t you think he’d have been killed?

I tend to agree, but he would have been in a position to uncover loads of stuff, that’s why he had to be taken out as National Security Advisor.

Yes. Or why didn’t /doesn’t he reveal? I always thought that was the safest option for people who know too much.

We need to hear about the Obama/Iran connection. What was their plan for when Hillary took the reins?

Flynn is under a gag order. He has been effectively "silenced."

For the time being.

Sidney Powell is too high profile, successful, and in a such a position where it is impossible to credibly ‘suicide’ her. The Obamanistas would have to make it look like an accident or just outright assassinate her.

The Intel agencies always run black budgets that Congress doesn’t know about and they do things that Congress and the American people really don’t WANT to know about. So I rather doubt they were worried about an audit.

There’s something else underneath their “get Flynn” effort. The obvious thing is he knew too much about Obama’s private deal with Iran, much of which has never been disclosed. But there could be other ops that the intel guys don’t want exposed.

Everybody knows about the billions the CIA runs “off the books”. That has been public knowledge since the 1970s at least.

No wonder the democrats are fighting Trump so much the swamp has a lot to hide.
None of them ever left D.C. empty handed.

”Scalia was high profile too.”

I agree that Scalia was as high profile as someone can be but at the time he was murdered by “old age” and a pillow he was not close to a single case/crisis point like the sham trial of General Flynn with a corrupt prosecution and a corrupt Judge Sullivan that has gone totally rogue. Also the deep state made it look like an accident, not a suicide or murder. Sydney Powell is to young and healthy for people to buy a death due to illness.

“There’s no telling how many billions of taxpayer dollars they’re running off books for the different intel agencies … and, of course, we see evidence of that … with what was paid to Stefan Halper for his shenanigans.

Other weird stuff - is someone trying to pin this on a Bush?:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Halper

From 1984 to 1990 Halper was chairman and majority shareholder of the Palmer National Bank of Washington, D.C., the National Bank of Northern Virginia and the George Washington National Bank.[6] Palmer National Bank was used to transfer money to Swiss Bank Accounts controlled by White House aid Oliver North.[11] According to Peter Dale Scott's book The Iran-Contra Connection: Secret Teams and Covert Operations in Reagan Era on the Iran–Contra affair, Ray Cline's son-in-law Roger Fontaine "made at least two visits to Guatemala in 1980 ... (with General Sumner) drafting the May 1980 Santa Fe Statement, which said that World War III was already underway in Central America against the Soviets and that Nicauragua was the enemy. And some Reagan aides felt that Halper "was receiving information from the CIA."[12] The Palmer National Bank, where Halper worked, was described as "the D.C. hub by which Lt. Col. Oliver North sent arms and money to the anti-Sandinista guerrilla Contras in Nicaragua. One of Palmer’s founders, Stefan Halper, had no previous banking experience, but was George H.W. Bush’s foreign policy director during Bush’s unsuccessful 1980 presidential campaign.” [13]

We all know about it, and many of us were willing to take the tradeoff of having the option of keeping something secret, like the Stealth Fighter or the U2, both of which were developed with at least some black ops funding.

But now that they have turned it, and verifiably turned it in the case of Stefan Halper against US citizens, that is quite a different thing.

That’s exactly the point. The author posits that Flynn was going to just “audit” the IC books and discover they were running “billions off-budget.” That was not the real raison d’être they were out to get him.

As you say, they didn’t want him exposing their direct assault on the US Constitution and their undermining of the American peoples’ self-governance.

Are you kidding me? Scalia was probably a dry run for what might happen after a Hillary was elected. They got away with killing him ... it might have finally been time to do Stalin and Mao proud has she stolen more at the voting booth.

Right. The reason wasn’t money. It was because he knew the ins and outs of intelligence, and would know the illegal crap being done by the Obama Administration at a glance.

As a matter of fact, the day after the Pee Tape meeting at the Trump Tower between Comey and Trump, there exists somewhere in testimony or email (I can’t find it right now) that someone (Flynn) on Trump’s team had asked pointed questions about Steele’s sources. Flynn would obviously know the ins and outs of THAT kind of thing, and I have no doubt it raised the alarm levels in the Obama Administration that they had to do something about Flynn.

Furthermore, it is documented that the Pentagon Whistleblower (Lovinger) who saw the expenses being paid to Halper via the Office of Net Assessments was fired a week later after protests from Halper, and that Lovinger knew and had worked with Flynn for a time on various things, and had specifically requested a post to work on the NSA with Flynn.

It is thought that Lovinger might have been providing Flynn with information regarding Halper’s activities.

I am of the opinion that the nexus of the Obama Administration's decision to target Flynn to get him ousted has something intimate to do with the fired WhistleBlower Adam Lovinger. This is even more significant, I think than their longstanding dislike and distrust of him for his opposition to Obama Administration policies. On this, I think Flynn was getting too close for comfort.

From this Washington Times article discussing contacts between James A. Baker:

Pentagon official spoke regularly with Washington Post columnist, records show

...On the Lovinger matter, Mr. Lovinger and Flynn had known each other for more than 10 years when Mr. Trump won the election and Flynn joined the transition team.

Mr. Lovinger had complained to Flynn that Mr. Baker’s office was failing in its job to write classified net assessments and outline new military strategies. He complained that ONA had become a money-pot for analysts such as Mr. Halper to write academic-style research papers.

Once in office as national security adviser, Flynn had Mr. Lovinger transferred to the security council to perform assessments.

Around that time, Mr. Baker initiated an investigation for alleged security violations.

Mr. Baker testified at Mr. Lovinger’s administrative trial that he was aware of a rumor that the new administration might replace him as ONA director..."

Remember who James A. Baker is?

He was the DIRECTOR of the Pentagon's Office of Net Assessments who was paying Stephan Halper.

As described in an article by the ever Excellent Clarice Feldman: The Office of Net Assessment paid Stefan Halper...why?

Having Lovinger and Flynn kibitzing about the goings on at the Office of Net Assessments at the Pentagon was, in my opinion, much too close of a thing for the plotters to handle.

Also, the fact that taxpayer money was used (I state that as a fact, because I believe it to be so) to target a Presidential candidate, and then a President Elect (not to mention the surveillance abuses and seditious plotting) makes this the most explosive political scandal in the history of our country.
